Jurgens Park

Located on the south edge of town, Jurgens Park includes the Arthur Community Swimming Pool, a T-ball diamond, 2 softball diamonds, tennis courts, and camping.  Jurgens Park was established in 1952 through a land acquisition of 12 acres of farm land from L. J. Meinzer, Lena Lee, and Alvin M. Yoder.  This park exists due to the efforts of E. L. Jurgens, President of the first Park Council in 1952.  Camping is on a first come first come serve basis that includes 7 electrical and water hookups.  Also, there is a bath house within walking distance from the sites.  Camping fees are $20 per night.   Jurgens Park is also the location for the Moultrie/Douglas County Fair and the annual Fireworks Display.  The park is open year around to the public and hours of operation are 5:00 a.m. to 11 p.m.  (Not including the swimming pool.)

Please contact JJ Carter for scheduling and reservations of the ball diamonds.
