Services and Departments

The Village of Arthur Sewer Department maintains and operates the Village's wastewater treatment plant. In addition, this department maintains, repairs and cleans the sanitary system lines and maintains all pump station facilities. 

In 2008, the Village of Arthur wastewater facility was nominated for an award for "Best Operated Wastewater Treatment Works" by the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators.  This nomination is quite an honor.  Arthur's plant was only one of five nominated from the 259 Group 2 facilities considered statewide.  We are very proud of the operation of our plant.
